Email Campaigns
Email campaigns are a huge weapon in the Internet Marketers arsenal. It allows him or her to
maintain contact with a valued visitor or customer and , if it is done correctly, will result in a good
long term relationship that will benefit both parties.
Email campaigns fall under a few different categories. An opt-in list, serviced by
your autoresponder(my recommendation is here), is probably the most common and an example of this is shown on this website. Usually, you have something that your
visitor wants(a product or information) and you provide this service once and/or for an extended period of
time. Every email should contain something of value and should not be just an ordinary sales pitch. As time
goes on, I will delve deeper into this topic and give numerous suggestions that can be used for this very
important resource and explain what you should definitely stay away from.
Email can also be used to distribute weekly or monthly newsletters. A newsletter lends a
formality to the campaign structure and you will very quickly be considered an expert in your field by your
visitor. Once again, the newsletter should provide value and at a deeper level than the emails you will
be sending out on a regular basis.
Another email component is one which is often overlooked and that is when you send
mail to folks who may not have even visited your site. There is email submitter software that I use to send
information to people who have expressed an interest in the service that I am providing and I will be making a
recommendation shortly. This example of an email campaign is particularly powerful as you now are communicating
with a group of people who have already expressed an interest in what you are offering. Once you have developed
this additional list you simply add it to your list(s) that are stored with your autoresponder.
Often, you will hear veteran Internet marketers say that "the money is in the
lists", and it is easy to see why this should be a major component of your marketing effort.
